Lesson 2: Downloading the Base Data

In this lesson, we are going to go over the base data that comes with the ACPF file geodatabase.

For the example watershed, we will be using the Lime Creek Watershed located in Illinois.

This data has been custom developed by the ACPF team to be used at the HUC12 watershed scale.

This video will show you how to download the base data. Step-by-step instructions covered in this video are listed below.

Note: There is no audio with this video.

How to Download the Base Data

1. Search for the HUC12 that you will be using the ACPF toolbox on.

2. When you find it, press "Download." Please note, you can download up to 10  datasets at a time. You must enter some general information like your name and organization into the website so that the team at Ames knows who is downloading the data.

3. Once the information is downloaded, save the information. The download should be named ACPF_HUC(12 digit code).

4. Extract the data using a program such as 7-zip and save to your hard drive.

After completing the downloading process, the next step is to set up a folder connection.
