In pairs (2 people), develop a Google Doc for the cases in chapters 4 and 5.

Review “Focus on a Case” sections of your book chapter 4.

Using a shared google doc, answer the following questions:
- What are barriers to having a bank account for Yolanda? Tamika?
- What are the pros/cons of having a bank account for Yolanda? Tamika?
- Are there other alternatives Yolanda and Tamika could consider?
Silvia and Hector:
Imagine you are meeting with Silvia and Hector in March of 2021. You have their most recent income statement and balance sheet (see slides). You know they are eager to own a house. Use the income statement or balance sheet to help them make a plan.
1. As a pair, discuss insights you have based on reviewing their documents. In your submitted response, evaluate and address:
a) Income volatility
b) Areas where fixed or variable expenses might be reduced (be realistic! Unlikely that they can cut their rent in half!)
c) identify potential timeline for home purchase based on these documents, assuming they’ll need a $10,000 down payment but also want some emergency savings .
2. What are three, well-worded questions about their financial statements that you could ask to help them to discover new insights and plan their next steps?
