It is the year 2034, and you are enjoying a satisfying career working as part of a diverse team in a new industry – one that didn’t even exist when you graduated in the early 2020s! As a successful alum, you have been asked by SuccessWorks to speak to new undergraduate students at your alma mater, UW-Madison, about how their college experience will connect to their future careers.
Referencing specific skills and knowledge you developed in the courses you took (or other activities you participated in) as a UW student, and thinking about the techniques of building a career narrative that your learned in INTER-LS 210, answer the following question in either a written essay or a short video recording: What advice would you give to the UW-Madison undergraduates of 2032 help them maximize their preparation for success in a diverse and unpredictable work environment?
Details of this final exam assignment:
- You can choose a written essay or a video recording
- Written essays must be three to five pages long (following these formatting guidelines, like other assignments).
- Video recordings must be three to five minutes long. (You may record a "selfie" video or narrate a slideshow presentation if you prefer.)
- You must refer to specific skills, concepts, or experiences from at least three different courses or other activities you participated in as a UW undergrad.
- The best answers will provide specific examples of how the reflection and career narrative techniques from your INTER-LS 210 course can help a student make sense of what they learn through other UW-Madison courses and experiences.
Since this is an optional exam, the points you earn from completing this exam will be added manually to your final grade (like extra credit).
NOTE: This assignment cannot be turned in late, even for partial credit!
