Image and event, 1667-2015 There is no literature without some events that are being referred to, narrated or, on the contrary, hidden and untold. But what is an event? How an event can be transformed into a text? An image? How an event, traditionally associated by figurative arts with biblical and mythological topics, came to represent actual History of the present time, both collective and individual? Why, while being always political, does an event tend to insignificance, or to the nonsense of unspeakable brutality ?
